At the end of 2021 we were contacted by a pre-school in a small village called Layer, in Essex. They have quite a large pre-school setting, with a small outdoor play area. Unfortunately, this had old, tired existing play equipment, which held little play value for the children.
The pre-school leaders really wanted one of our Buccaneer Pirate Ships, which just wouldn’t work within the tight spacial restrictions in this play area setting. We discussed the project further with our design team, who set about creating a bespoke, early years friendly, pirate boat that would fit in the available space, appealing to those budding little explorers!
This is ‘The Layer Fortune’, designed for children up to 6 years old. The play elements are packed in on this small pirate boat, which features the following: Easy Access Stairs, Pull Up Rope Climbing Ramp, HDPE Slide & Engraved Entry Panel, V Rope Bridge, Blue Perspex ‘Porthole’ Domes, Nautical Timber Embellishments, Under Deck Dens & a Skull & Cross-Bones HDPE Flag.
The children were so thrilled with their new Pirate Boat when they returned from the half term break, following a successful install.
