Oak Lodge Specialist Arts College, which caters to various special educational needs, invited us in early 2023. They needed a new trim trail and surfacing. The existing surfacing was in poor condition, with layers of repairs causing trip hazards.

The school wanted a peaceful area for walking, socializing, and relaxing. We proposed textured surfacing with low-level planters for sensory stimulation.

During our visit, we identified specific needs for some children, such as regular walking routes and Den Poles. We also included a stage area with curved seating and a small mound for added height.

The project took six weeks and removed ten large skips of old rubber surfacing. The new space is perfect for relaxation and socialising between lessons. The children and staff were thrilled with the results.
