Following our debut at the Schools & Academies Show in May 2023, Oakley CE Combined School contacted us. We briefly spoke with the Bursar, Joanne, during the exhibition, which led to their invitation to the school. The school needed help replacing their deteriorating outdoor classroom outside the Robins classroom.
During our visit, we met with Iola and the Owls class teacher to understand their vision and specific requirements. Taking their feedback into account, we returned to the office and designed a bespoke solution that aligned with their brief.
After refining the design and updating the quote, the school gave us the go-ahead to bring the project to life!
The result was a custom-built outdoor classroom featuring half-clad, half-trellis sides, planters at the front, bespoke seating, and wipeable Perspex tables within the structure—perfect for interactive learning.
The project was successfully completed in early November 2023, and the students had this to say about their new space:
“It is really good. We can be outside learning even when it’s raining. The tables are actually whiteboards so we can write on them!”
The school also shared their enthusiasm: “Sawscapes Play has created this bespoke structure for us, and we are thrilled with the result.”
